as one of the most popular instruments in the world,the violin has a history of more than 400 years.During this period,various violin schools with different styles of playing came into being,which influenced each other and promoted the development of violin performance art.French-Belgian school and Russian school are essential schools in the mainstream violin school.French-Belgian school is the general name of French School and Belgian school.French-Belgian school has trained many world-class violinists and violin educators and compiled a large number of violin playing textbooks and theoretical textbooks.Other violin schools in the world are influenced by French-Belgian school.Among them,the most deeply influenced is the Russian school,which has a profound influence and contribution to the development of the world violin art in the 20 th century.This paper introduces in detail the development origin,style characteristics,performance skills and representative figures of French-Belgian school and Russian school,and compares the performance concept,performance techniques and performance between the two schools by analysing the Hora staccato performed by Jascha Heifetz,the representative figure of Russian school and Christian Ferras,the representative figure of French-Belgian school.Through the comparison,the similarities and differences of playing style,and further elaborated the influence and enlightenment of the two schools on the development of Chinese violin art,which has profound theoretical research value.
