Mental health issues in college students has long been one of the research hotspots. However, the number of university students who take the initiative to seeking help when they encounter psychological problems is not high, and there is a general phenomenon of hesitation and struggle in the process of seeking help,So the psychological distress got aggravating. This study described the current level of mental health and help-seeking in college students, then further explored the effect of mental health stigma on help-seeking delay and finally explored the impact of regulating matching on the mental health stigma.with the aim of reducing mental health stigma in college students and improving students' help-seeking.The following three studies were carried out in this thesis.Study 1:to explore psychological distress of college students in college students and helpseeking delay when they encounter the psychological problems. Methods: 265 college students were investigated by questionnaire. Results: 37.35% of college students were depressed in different degrees, and more than 62% had psychological problems, but only 5% decide to seeking help. Conclusion: At present, college students generally have different levels of psychological problems, but the tendency to seeking psychological help is not high.Study 2 : to explore the influence of public stigma and self-stigma on the delay of help seeking among college students. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 142 College students. Results: Regression analysis showed that the self-stigma of mental health of college students had a significant effect on the delay of help-seeking.When the degree of selfstigma of mental health was higher, the delay of help-seeking was higher;while the public stigma had no effect on the delay of help-seeking of College students. Conclusion: The self-stigma of mental health of college students has a significant effect on the delay of help-seeking.Study 3 : to explore the impact of situational induced regulatory focus and message frame on help-seeking delay. Methods: Using 2(situational induced regulatory focus: promotion focus, prevention focus)×2(message frame: positive framing, negative framing)between-subjects design was selected for 162 College students. Results: The interaction effect between situational induced regulatory focus and message frame was significant. Conclusion: when the information framework is positive, situational induced promotion focus had lower help-seeking delay than situational induced prevention focus, and when the framework is negative, situational induced prevention focus had higher help-seeking delay lower than situational induced promotion focus.through the regression analysis,we found that help-seeking delay was affected by self-stigma of mental health and attitude of college students to help-seeking.Conclusion: regulatory fit can effectively reduce the self-stigma of mental health and delay of help-seeking among college students.Base on the above studies,we can consider that the results show that the happening of the self-stigma has significant impact on help-seeking delay. And also found that situational induced regulatory focus and message frame has significant impact on help-seeking delay.
