There are abundant research achievements on Chinese instrumental prepositions, and the predecessors has done a series of researches in diachronic and synchronic,cross-lingual contrast, case studies and other aspects. However,as a whole, most of the previous studies focused on the study of a certain class of words or single prepositions, which are not systematic. So far,no one has conducted a comprehensive and systematic discussion on the origin of instrumental prepositions from the perspective of grammaticalization. Therefore, from the perspective of grammaticalization, this article aims to conduct a comprehensive and systematic investigation on the source and development process of instrumental prepositions in the category of prepositions, and to explore the evolution path and rules of semantic evolution. This article is divided into six chapters:The introduction of the first chapter mainly introduces the existing research on instrumental cells and instrumental prepositions. On this basis, the prepositions of instrumental cells and instrumental prepositions are put forward. The research object, content and meaning of this article, the research theories and methods, and finally Explain the source of the corpus.Chapter two to chapter six are the key parts of the research.According to the different semantic sources of instrumental prepositions, this paper divides them into five categories. The second chapter discusses the origin and development of "accompaniment—instrumental prepositions ".The main prepositions are "Yi,Lian,Gong,He,Tong,And,Giving,Gen",etc. The semantic evolution pattern of such prepositions is "Accompanying Prepositions> Instrumental Prepositions ".This article mainly discusses the origin and development of the preposition "Yi" in the tool case. The "Yi" is grammatically transformed into the adverbial preposition in the conjunction, and then develops from the preposition to the tool preposition. As the scope of the object of "Yi" keeps expanding, the functions of prepositions of type, prepositions of material, prepositions based on prepositions, prepositions based on prepositions and causes have been expanded. The third chapter is the origin and development of "use—instrumental prepositions ".The main prepositions are "use, zhe, make";such prepositions are directly produced by the verbs with the meaning of "Use" in the syntactic context instrumental preposition function. It mainly discusses "use, zhe ".The two are different from each other when they become tool prepositions, and the semantic functions of the introduction are different."Use" has developed into modern Chinese as a tool case mark."Zhe" was no longer used as a tool preposition in the Qing Dynasty. The fourth chapter is the origin and development of "holdinginstrumental prepositions ",the main prepositions "Ba,Jiang,Chi,Zhuo,Na,Qu" and so on.Such prepositions are conceptualized into the meaning of "holding and taking" under the role of metaphor mechanism after blurring into instrumental prepositions. It mainly discusses "Ba,Jiang",and the development trajectories of the two words are similar."Ba" in the Five Dynasties had three semantic functions: tools, materials, and methods. In the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the preposition function was extended in special contexts.Due to the different subtypes of the object, the preposition function was abstracted."Jiang" does not extend the function of prepositions based on prepositions, and the function of the two-word Ming-Qing period table disposition is dominant."Jiang" is not used as a tool preposition, and "Jiang" is mostly used in idioms in modern Chinese. The fifth chapter is the source and development of "reliance-instrumental prepositions ".This type of preposition is mainly devoid of relying on or preposition."Yi" was originally based on prepositions, and then extended to rely on prepositions;"Ping" was based on prepositions, and then extended to prepositions. The two words and the continuum mark "Zhe" condensed into a polysyllabic tool preposition, and "Yi" and "Ping" have a single function. The sixth chapter is "Along with-instrumental prepositions ",from the preposition to the meaning of the tool,"cong" It is not the same as the development of other tool prepositions. It is grammatically transformed into prepositional meanings. As the tool components develop into logical relations,it expands the function of the basis preposition.A single function is used as the basis preposition. In the Zhou Dynasty, the prepositions based on the imagination in the special syntactic environment of "you" expanded the function of prepositions in the Warring States Period, and the prepositions of cause in the Han Dynasty. The prepositions from anterograde to instrumental have undergone the process of verbs with the meaning of "anterograde" being reduced to form prepositions or basis prepositions in the conjunctive form. Finally, the conclusion part summarizes the contents of the instrumental prepositions derived from five different semantics.
