Preposition "yi" In 《Mencius》

Preposition is the most frequently used word in Chinese system, using the most flexible and complex parts of speech, specially the preposition "yi" in "Mencius" which cann`t be located before the adverbial predicate structure but also be located after the verb structure, as Complement. The preposition changes in format shows the flexibility of Chinese grammar,as well as period changes in word order pave the way for the emergence of Chinese words putting into the fixed structure of fresh blood,and even become a turning point in Chinese history of great research value."Mencius" is a compilation of remarks made by the Warring States period of Mencius and his students recording the words and deeds.It isn`t only a dialogue and body work, but also one of the Confucian classics major. Not only of high literary value, bue also because the book Speaking of strong, it could comprehensively reflect the language in Warring States period.It is typical of literature which reflects the Warring States period. Preposition "yi" in this book appeared about 281times.Most of the structure used in the predicate adverbial done before, and its variant structure is located after the verb as complement.The syntax changes in this period reflects the trend of development.A major advantage of this paper is to compare the prepositional phrases, not just a simple analysis and comparison of preposition "yi" in the predicate structure before or after the combination,which have set out the embodied features,even brought preposition object of the pre-and in prior to the prepositional predicate structure compared systematically in"Mencius",a book of all with"yi"that is in the solidification of a fixed structure and related to omit.This is not just a simple analysis of the structure located before or after the predicate,but also brought prepositions Prepositional,fixed structure,and omit the column all involved in.Therefore, this article draw on previous research from the semantics, syntax and pragmatics to show the whole picture. In the writing process, I explore its origin, as well as its frequenct use.Then I make a comprehensive and horizontal description from seven sections.Finally,this paper summarize the progressive development of the preposition rules based on comprehensive analysis and thinking through modern Chinese.
