This paper is a systematic collation and preliminary study of ceramics collected by the Museum of Archaeology and Art of Jilin University(Song Dynasty-Qing Dynasty).According to the glazed varieties, these collections can be divided into 33 categories, such as low temperature lead glaze pottery, monochromatic glaze porcelain, crystal glaze porcelain, color porcelain and so on.The Ming and Qing dynasties color porcelain and Song Dynasty monochromatic glaze porcelain accounted for the majority.Through the comparison with archaeological unearthed data and reliable museum collections, combined with the previous research results,on the basis of carefully and standardized description of the characteristics of each collection, this paper redefines the utensil name, age, variety, kiln mouth(kiln department)and so on.This paper corrects and supplements the errors and omissions in the original records of pottery and porcelain in the collection, clarifies the specific kiln mouth of 54 utensils in the original archives and the specific era of 27 utensils, discriminates 16 imitations after the Republic of China, and corrects 80 utensils that are wrong in the times in the original archives. The collection of ceramics from Song to Qing dynasties has the following characteristics:(1)from Song Liao to Ming and Qing dynasties, the number of Ming and Qing colored porcelain is the largest;(2)the glaze color varieties are rich, and the main kilns(kiln departments)in each era have some representative products;(3)Jingdezhen official kiln products, which represent the highest achievements of ceramic handicraft industry, account for a certain proportion, and the ceramics before Ming and Qing dynasties are all folk kiln products.
