Zimbardo's Time Perspective theory was constructed from the psychological time,and it holds that Time Perspective is a cogniti ve pattern related to the psychological concepts of individual's past,present and future.It was proved that Time Perspective have the significant impact on one's behavior,attitude and values.The Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory(ZTPI)contained five facets which is Past Positive,Past Negative,Present Hedonism,Present Fatalism and Future Time Perspective,whereas,t he Swedish version of ZTPI broadening the future dimension with Future Negative.Bias on any dimension of Time Perspective could draw the negative impact,but the people with Balanced Time Perspective can integrate their past,present and future,applied it in accordant with the current needs,the features of the task,the situation and self-resources to help them get more adaptive development.If we want to have a more balanced Time Perspective developed through intervention,we should have individuals' Time Perspective measured at first.This study is based on the revision of the Swidish Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory(S-ZTPI)and have the current situation of time perspective on college students' analyzed.Then,the revised version of S-ZTPI were used to screening the students who grading high on their past negative.Finally,the expressive writing was used to intervene the ir past time perspective.The revised version of S-ZTPI obtaining the sufficient reliability and validity.The factor analysis confirmed the good structure validity,the internal consistent ? and test-retest reliability identified a stable characteristic that measured,and the criterion analysis with self-identity proved the good external validity of revised inventory.The 23 items of revised ZTPI were distributed into six dimensions,the Past Positive,Past Negative,Present Positive,Present Negative,Future Positive and Future Negative Time Perspective,and explained the 56.572% of total variation.Compared to the scores with Balanced Time Perspective,the Past Negative and Present Negative were been excessive on college students.It shows the significant grade difference on P ast Positive,the scores on junior and senior's were significantly lower than that of sophomore and freshman's,and there was no gender differences.The expressive writing that launched on college students with a high degree of Past Negative found that,the scores of Past Negative was decreased and Past Positive increased significantly after a month.The results of expressive writing showed the significant gender differ ence,the Past Positive was increased and Past Negative decreased on male students' in a month later,but not significantly.The increase of Past Positive on female students' were not too,but the Past Negative level of female students' does significantly decreased.Expressive writing can effectively decrease individuals' negative Time Perspective in the past and cultivate their positive past time perspective.
