The Study On Neologism In The People's Commentary Column Of People's Daily From 2012 To 2017

Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC),Chinese society has entered a new historical stage and has undergone historic major changes in many fields.As the official mainstream party media People's Daily led a new era,with a wealth of neologism to record a variety of new things,new ideas,to witness the transformation and development of society.Based on the method of quantitative statistical analysis,this paper studies 468 neologism in People's Commentary column from 2012 to 2017.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly reviews the abundant achievements in the study of neologisms since the reform and opening-up.It finds that few achievements have been made in specific texts for quantitative study and rhetorical interpretation of neologisms.Then,it determines the research ideas and methods of the neologism in People's Commentary column.The second part is the main body,mainly divided into three chapters.Based on the statistics of the first chapter,this paper focuses on the analysis of the characteristics of the neologisms in chapter two and the rhetorical interpretation of the neologisms in the third chapter.The main findings are as follows:First,after making relevant statistics and setting up two sets of contrastive statistics,it is found that the polysyllabic trend of neologism from 2012 to 2017 is more significant than that of the previous stage,and that a large number of neologism clusters and abbreviations are distributed in new words.The special features of the neologism in this period reflect the psychological needs and rich language forms of the people in the new period.Second,the neologism of People's Commentary column increased sharply in 2013,highlighting the tremendous changes and innovations in social life since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012.With the birth of new media forms such as all-media,self-media,word media,and so on.The spread of language and characters has taken on a new pattern of development.Third,by drawing the vitality curve of the neologism and analyzing the stability of the neologism,it is not difficult to find that the neologism are still in the unstable stage.Only a part of the neologism can gradually become stable or have stabilized into the ranks of the general vocabulary.Fourth,from 2012 to 2017,neologism of the People's Commentary column focuses more on the fields of politics and law and social networking on the Internet,in line with the major changes in the country's political field since the 18 th CPC National Congress and the trend of rapid development of the Internet.Fifth,the rhetorical interpretation of the three groups of neologisms in the people's Review by combining the theory of generalized rhetoric.Neologism such as“??”“??”reflect the extensive absorption of popular discourse by the People's Commentary column,and shows the equal exchange between official authority and folk identity.Neologism such as“???”and“???”form rich semantic connotation in the context of concrete People's Commentary column,and become concrete and perceptible from abstract concepts,which can not only contain the"grand narrative"of the home country,the national complex,Attention can also be paid to each"specific"individual,with broad rhetorical interpretation space.The last part is the conclusion part,which summarizes the main points and shortcomings of this paper.
