Research On The Dissemination Of "model Play" In "People's Daily" (1966-1976)

As one of the very few unpublished party newspapers during the "Cultural Revolution","People's Daily" has a great group of readers.Its reports have become a political barometer,and it is the organ of the Party Central Committee.As the most important media,"People's Daily" has spared no effort to disseminate and popularize the "Model Opera",the mainstream form of culture during the "Cultural Revolution".This paper studies the dissemination of"Model Opera" in "People's Daily" during the "Cultural Revolution".It analyzes data on the basis of framework theory and communication knowledge,clarifies the general circumstance of dissemination for "Model Opera" in the "People's Daily",summarizes the characteristics of its dissemination,and examines its functions and effects.This study also explores the operation of political power and ideological control within the "People's Daily",summarizes historical experiences and lessons,reflects the law of news dissemination and the cultural ecology of the existence of drama,and provides suggestions for the development of the media and the construction of drama culture in the future.This paper is comprised of five sections:Introduction:This section explains the origin,object,and current situation of this research.It also introduces the research approaches and methods of this paper.Chapter 1:The General Dissemination of "Model Opera" in the "People's Daily".On the basis of a large amount of historical data,the propagandas and reports of“Model Opera" in the "People's Daily" during the“Cultural Revolution" were organized in terms of time,title,source,genre,layout,space,etc.The knowledge of statistics is thoroughly used to reconstruct the transmission of "Model Opera" from“People's Daily",revealing how the government disseminates“Model Opera" through the channel of newspapers and maintains its own monopoly on culture.Chapter 2:The Characteristics of "Model Opera" in the“People's Daily”.It summarizes the characteristics of“People's Daily" in the dissemination of“Model Opera" using statistically analysis:1.Pan-political reports,which is shown by the frequently use of Chairman Mao' s quotation,the overwhelming political slogans,and the overflowing beautiful words.2.Highly modeled reports.A strong tendency of patterning can be seen from the title,the signature,and the writing paradigm of the report.3.Bundle all-round reports in all aspects."Bundle" refers to massive and intensive reports."All-round" refers to all kinds of textual,audio-visual,commercial products and other derivatives related to "model operas"as well as the adapted reports of "Model Opera"4.Continuous overlapping reports,which refer to the long-term and multi-phased continuous reports,as well as overlapping reports that increase the mutual reload of other journals,in order to increase the exposure and influence of"Model Opera".Chapter 3:The dissemination effects of "Model Opera" on the "People's Daily".This chapter examines the dissemination function and effect achieved by the“Model Opera" in the "People's Daily",which includes the political effect of serving power struggles and the cultural effect from professionals on disseminating "Model Opera".At the same time,it contains the educational effect of reflecting the acceptance of the public and the information function of transmitting various dynamic performances of "Model Opera".Those functions and effects shows the influence of special political context and the mental climate on "Model Opera”.Conclusion:This section evaluates values based on actual judgments.According to the analysis about the condition and impacts of the dissemination of "Model opera" within"People' s Daily",this study summarizes historical experiences and lessons,reflects the correlation between literature and politics,propaganda and literary ecology.In addition,it explores the law and experience of the cultural dissemination and interpret the survival and development of "Model Opera".
