A Study On Japanese Puppet Police Agency In Shanxi Province During The War Of Resistance Japan

As an important part of state power in modern times,policy is the basic guarantee of maintaining social order.The invasion of the Western powers led to the fission of social structures.After 1840,China's two thousand year feudalism systems were broken.Under the pressure of internal and external troubles,the Qing government was forced to set up a police administration to maintain its precarious ruling status.Thus,the police administration in Shanxi Province started and developed.During the period of the Republic of China,Yan Xishan strengthened the communal construction of Shanxi Province after taking charge of the political power,and the police construction was increasingly improved.After the outbreak of the total Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,Japanese troops quickly attacked Shanxi,occupied the provincial capital Taiyuan,and established a puppet regime to rule the occupied area.In the process of establishing the puppet regime in Shanxi Province in November 1937,the Japanese invaders urgently established the colonial police system headed by the provincial National Police Agency,with a strict organizational structure,which invaded every corner of society.It is an important organization for the Japanese invaders to implement the strategy of "Ruling China Using the Chinese" in Shanxi Province.They strengthened their police functions,increased the number of false police personnel,carried out terrorist rule,and tried to control the occupied areas from political,economic,ideological and other aspects during the Japanese occupation of Shanxi Province,becoming an important accomplice of fascist rule.This paper mainly studies the organizational structure,functions and colonial activities of the puppet police in Shanxi province by using the records,archives and newspapers of the puppet regime of Shanxi Province during the war of resistance against Japanese aggression.This paper consists of introduction and four parts:The introduction area defines the police agency of Shanxi Province,discusses and analyzes the current academic research status and problems of the puppet regime in North China and Japanese troops activities in Shanxi Province.The first part discusses the establishment and development of Shanxi Police before the war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the establishment of Japanese puppet police institutions in Shanxi.The second part discusses the institutions of Shanxi Province puppet police.This paper discusses the organizational structure,armed police force and police education of the puppet police institutions,analyzes the police means of Japanese aggressors controlling the occupied areas,and the sources of the puppet police at all levels.The third part analyzes the activities of the Japanese puppet police department.During the period of Japanese occupation,the puppet police carried out colonial management in politics,economy and ideology,and carried out spy activities,so as to control the social order and rule the masses,and became a loyal puppet of the Japanese aggressors.The fourth part analyzes the criminal activities and the ruling characteristics of the puppet police during the Japanese invasion of Shanxi.Under the command of the Japanese troops,the puppet police stole intelligence,blockaded the economy,persecuted the Anti Japanese masses and Party members.After the end of the war of resistance against Japanese aggression,some Japanese police officers stayed in Shanxi,intending to restore the colonial power,with the characteristics of puppet,reactionary and long ruling time,which brought great disaster to the people of Shanxi Province.
