The Study On The Adverbs In Yangyuan Dialect Of Hebei

The adverbs is very significant and complex in Chinese parts of speech.The study on the adverbs has always been the focus of Chinese grammar.Yangyuan county is located in the border area between Zhangjiakou and Datong.Yangyuan dialcet belongs to the Zhanghu part of Jin dialect.Few articles have ever described the adverbs of Yangyuan dialcet,which is abundant in quantity and used in a variety of ways.So,a comprehensive and systematic investigation on the adverbs in Yangyuan dialect can provide some fresh data for the study of the grammar of Hebei dialect and help to discover the dialectal characteristics about the transitional ares from Jin dialect to Mandarin dialect.The thesis divides the adverbs of Yangyuan dialect into two groups: group A adverbs and group B adverbs.The main description object is group A adverbs,which have the characteristics in word form or usage.On the basis of fieldwork,self-examination and literature review,the thesis makes full use of methods “the three planes”,comparison and so on to describe and investigate these adverbs in synchronic and diachronic aspects.There are four chapters in this thesis:Chapter one: introduction.This chapter mainly introduces the general situation of Yangyuan county and Yangyuan dialect,discusses the current situation and research significance of topic selection in details,identifies main objects and methods and explains the source of the corpus and the style of writing.Chapter two: the classification description and comparative analysis about the adverbs of Yangyuan dialect.There are seven sections in this chapter.The first section is classification.In this section,the adverbs of Yangyuan dialect are divided into six categories according to previous studies of mandarin adverbs,concluding degree adverb,scope adverb,time frequency adverb,modal adverb,manner adverb and negation adverb.The second section to the seventh section describe the above six types of adverbs from the three planes: syntax,semantic and pragmatic seriously.Inthe meantime,some of the adverbs are compared with some adverbs in mandarin or other related dialects from different angles to highlight the differences in the usage of Yangyuan dialect adverbs.These six sections examine 61 adverbs of Yangyuan dialect,concluding 9 degree adverbs,9 scope adverbs,11 time frequency adverbs,19 modal adverbs,10 manner adverbs and 3 negation adverbs.Chapter three: observing the adverbs in Yangyuan dialect from the perspective of language evolution.Based on the previous related theories of the generation and evolution of adverbs,this chapter makes a diachronic exploration about the adverbs of Yangyuan dialect.The thesis holds that the adverbs in Yangyuan dialect in the generation and evolution have three mainly forms: lexicalization and grammaticalization,phonetics change and preserving the ancient.This chapter illustrates 3 adverbs of lexicalization and grammaticalization,1 adverb of phonetics change and 8 adverbs of preserving the early mandarin Chinese.Chapter four: the conclusion.This chapter is a summary of whole thesis.Firstly,summarizing the characteristics of the adverbs of Yangyuan dialect,such as rich in quantity,rich in superposition,rich in ancient words,obvious in oral features and so on.Then taking reflections and conclusions about shortcomings in the whole process of the writing from the three angles: collecting words,using words and probing into the sources.
