The Chorus Symphony Bell is a Chorus Symphony by Rachmaninov based on the poem of the same name bY American writer Edgar Allan Poe.The composer's creation is highly unified with poetry in form and contentThe "bell" image runs through the beginning and end of the work, and the four types of bells correspond to the four stages of life:childhood, youth, middle age and old age.It is worth mentioning that the final part of Rachmaninov's writing for the work is emotionally different from poetry, which reflects Rachman's attitude towards death from the side. This is closely related to the composer's social environm ent, religious beliefs and life expenence. The framework of the thesis is divided into three parts:introduction, text and condusion, and the text part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter expounds the life of Ellen Poe and Rachmaninov before the creation of Bell, and their social background and course when they created Bell. The second chapter analyzes from the two angles of poetry and music, feels the musicality in poetry, and understands the charm of poetry and music intertwined The third chapter rises to the spuitual level and explores Rachmaninov's ephemeral thoughts and religious views from the atation of the theme of the "Doomsday Sutra" in Chorus Symphony"Bells".And the bells and the doombday are laying the groundwork for death.Ellen Poe Both Rachmaninov and Rachmaninov have a gtrong "death" complex, and their description of"death" in their works conveys their attitude towards "death":"death" is frightening because of the unlmown, and useless struggle can only add pain, rather than turning fear into the courage to face death calmly.Death is not the end.The death of the body does not represent the true death, and the soul(spiritual thought)can only become eternal from the shackles of the body. Finally, modern research on the near-death experience shows that scholars from all walks of life have been exploring the "death" step forward. The concluding part gives a brief overview of each chapter of the thesis, combing and clarifying "bells".The relationship between "the apocalypse" and "death",and finally the next research plan.
