Objective:Long-term restrictive eating behaviors can not only directly develop into pathological eating disorders,but also seriously affect the physical and mental health of individuals in the process of development and formation.Therefore,it is necessary to explore its formation mechanism.Previous studies have shown that restrictive eating behaviors are influenced by a variety of factors.Peer influence and negative body image are important social and individual factors.Studies have shown that peer influence has both direct and indirect negative effects on body image and eating behavior.This effect makes them more likely to have a higher negative view of the body,leading individuals to adopt restrictive eating behaviors for self-regulation.In peer influence,the degree of individual's influence may be related to the individual's adoption of self-regulating coping strategies,which may produce different behavioral results.Therefore,under different coping strategies,the degree of peer influence on negative body image will be different,and the level of restrictive eating behaviors will be different.This paper constructs a moderated mediation model,that means negative body image plays a part in mediating between peer influence and restrictive eating behavior,while the influence on eating behavior is regulated by different coping strategies.Methods:This study used online questionnaire survey to collect data.The subjects were mainly students in henan and hubei provinces.1902 copies of the questionnaire were collected,and the invalid questionnaires including missing,misfilled and outmoded values were deleted,and the valid questionnaire was kept at1668.SPSS19.0 software was used to conduct independent sample t test and variance analysis on the data,and Hayes SPSS PROCESS was used to conduct mediation and adjustment effect analysis.Results:(1)there was a significant positive correlation between peer influence and restrictive eating behaviors;(2)there was a significant positive correlation between peer influence and negative body image,while there was a significant positive correlation between negative body image and restrictive eating behaviors.(3)there was a significant positive correlation between peer influence and coping strategies(appearance correction,avoidance,positive and reasonable acceptance),and there was a significant positive correlation between coping strategies and negative body image.(4)negative body image can partially mediate the relationship between peer influence and restrictive eating behaviors.There is a direct and indirect relationship between peer influence and restrictive eating behaviors.(5)in coping strategies,appearance modification and positive and reasonable acceptance strategies can regulate the mediating effect of negative body image,and the mediating effect is in the first half of the stage and has no direct influence on restrictive eating behaviors.(6)avoidance strategy has no significant moderating effect,and interaction with peer influence has a direct impact on restrictive eating behaviors.Conclusion:This study explored the influence companions negative body image of the relationship between coping strategies and restrictive diet behavior,hints for teens and adults restrictive diet behavior prevention and intervention measures,to promote the diversity of the community physical self cognitive understanding,in the peer exchanges,encourage them to adopt the reality of self,rather than a companion or social norms and difficult to achieve the ideal body standard to evaluate yourself,cultivate the reasonable accept strategy,etc.The use of effective strategies and application ability,to develop healthy eating habits.
