Plain is an important aesthetic category in Chinese classical aesthetics.It originates from the aesthetics of Taoist thought.It is also an aesthetic faith that many future generations of poets and painters strive to pursue,which not only made their life vision and artistic feelings change subtly,but also made an inestimable contribution to the inheritance and promotion of plain aesthetic thoughts.In this complex and changing society,the plain highlights its preciousness,and it is well worth exploring and comprehending by our contemporary younger.Plain has important implications for the author to form his own painting style and attitude towards life.This article focuses on the formal language and peaceful aesthetic taste in the series of Ying Qu,using oil painting to define painting styles and painting elements,expressing aesthetic appeal,and strive to reflect the artistic style which is different from western painting.This article is divided into three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.Among them,the text consists of three chapters.The first chapter is the author 's understanding of the plain and the elaboration of which found in the paintings;the second chapter is the thoughts on the early experience of the oil painting in series of Ying Qu,including the association which is initiating by shadow,and the depiction of creative motivation;The third chapter mainly introduces how the plain is reflected in creative practice,and discusses the aesthetic sense of the form and expression of the still life creation.Finally,elaborate on the plain expressed through skill.
