English writing is not only one of the four language skills,but also an important part of language competence.However,there are plenty of problems in the teaching of English writing in junior high school.What kind of teacher feedback should be adopted and how to implement teacher feedback to effectively improve students' English writing level is one of the problems that need to be solved urgently.In recent years,although many scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of research on the current situation and effectiveness of teachers' feedback,there is no determinate answer to the effects of different kinds of teacher feedback on developing junior high school students' English writing.Therefore,this study aims to make a comparison between the combination of teachers' written and oral feedback and only teachers' written feedback,so as to explore the influence of the two kinds of teacher feedback on the linguistic accuracy and the overall quality of junior middle school students' English writing.Moreover,it also investigates students' attitudes to English writing and teachers' feedback,as well as their expectations and comments on teachers' feedback,so as to put forward some suggestions and for junior high school English writing teaching.The subjects of this study is from a middle school in Huairen,Shanxi Province who are tested for three months.In this study,the authorwill answer the following questions: Which type of teacher feedback is more effective for junior high school students to improve their English writing linguistic accuracy? Which type of teacher feedback is more effective for junior high school students to improve their English writing overall quality? What are the attitudes of junior high school students towards English writing and teacher feedback? After the experiment,the students' compositions before and after the experiment are sorted out and analyzed.Besides,SPSS22.0 is used to conduct independent sample and paired sample T test on the collected data.Moreover,students' attitudes to English writing and teacher feedback,as well as their attitudes and evaluations towards teacher feedback,are investigated through questionnaires and interview.Through empirical research,the author finds that :(1)Both kinds of teacher feedback can improve the linguistic accuracy and overall quality of English writing.(2)Compared with teachers' written feedback,the combination of teachers' written and oral feedback has a more obvious effect on the accuracy and overall quality of junior high school English writing.(3)The combination of teachers' written and oral feedback can reduce students' writing errors more than only teachers' written feedback.(4)Students have a positive attitude towards both kinds of teacher feedback.Therefore,in the future teaching,teachers should continue to explore effective feedback methods so as to improve students' writingability more effectively.Finally,this research points out some shortcomings of this study and future research prospects,so as to provide some enlightenment for the research and teaching of English writing.
