| English writing ability is an important skill emphasized in the new high school English curriculum standards,and it is also the focus and difficulty of high school English writing teaching.Among them,the teacher’s written feedback is a factor that cannot be ignored.However,there are many researches on teachers’ written feedback both at home and abroad for advanced English writing,and less for high school English writing.In this study,186 students and 14 English teachers in the first grade of a middle school in Yinchuan were used as the research objects.Data were collected through teacher-student questionnaires and interviews,text analysis research methods.The five dimensions from the teachers’ and students’ understanding of teachers ’written feedback,the actual situation of teachers’ written feedback,the students’ needs and expectations of teachers’ written feedback,the teachers’ practices after written feedback and the students’ responses to teachers’ written feedback were investigated about English writing teachers’ written feedback in the current high school.Through research,the main problems about English writing teacher’s written feedback in the current high school were as follows: single feedback method;lack of timeliness and continuity of feedback;emphasis on linguistic form feedback,light content structure feedback;lack of specific targeted feedback,less attention to individual needs differences;low students’ enthusiasm for modification;insufficient feedback motivation.In view of this,the author proposes the following improvement strategies for the problems in this study:combine direct and indirect feedback to enhance the diversity of feedback methods;ensure the timeliness of feedback and strengthen supervision after feedback;balance the content of feedback and optimize the feedback strategy;strengthen the specificity of feedback and pay attention to the needs of students’ individual feedback;strengthen the use of written feedback guidance to enhance students’ enthusiasm for modification;change the concept of feedback and enhance the incentive function of comment feedback. |
