| As cultural exchanges between China and the world are becoming more and more frequent,cooperations in education are also flourishing and getting closer.China encourages Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools in order to improve China’s education.This teaching pattern introduces high-quality international education resources and put a new touch on China’s higher education.During its development,class interpreting emerges at the right moment due to difficulties in communication between foreign teachers and Chinese students on professional content of courses.From November 12 th to November 28 th in 2018,the author took part in interpreting observation and practice in International Design Art College(IMDAC).It was organized by Foreign Languages School of Inner Mongolia Normal University(IMNU).The participants were 12 students from class of 2018 in English interpretation major.They were divided into 4 groups and the author was in Group One.It took 3 weeks to finish the activity.In the first two weeks,the author observed two interpreting teachers’ performance in class and the interpreting teacher would give the author task in the third week according to their students’ course schedule.On Wednesday of the third week,Tim Smith was goingto give class for students in animation major.The content of the class can be divided into two parts,the first part is about game mechanisms and the second part is about narrative story design of game.The author interpreted the first part,lasting nearly 1 hour.The report is based on the interpreter’s observation and practice in IMDAC.Firstly,the author describes the whole interpreting process,including pre-interpreting,on-site interpreting and post-interpreting phases.Next,the author analyzes the main problems encountered in the practice from the perspective of Bourdieu’s Sociology,which are listed as follows: lack of good habitus and relevant capitals;deficiency of fulfilling the roles of class interpreters.Then,unbalanced power flows thus caused by the prior problems.Further coping methods are put forward according to main problems: class interpreters should realize their roles in the field;form good habitus;pay attention to capitals accumulation. |
