The Narrative Study Of Jiaxuan Ci

Xin Qiji,as a man of letters in the Southern Song Dynasty,was endlessly studied by researchers.However,they used to focus more on his lyrical nature,while ignoring the narrative nature.In fact,there are also narrative elements in Jiaxuan Ci(lyricaloriented words written by Xin Qiji).On the basis of previous studies,this paper stands on the text,beginning from the traditional theory of our country,and systematically explores the narrative in the Ci of Jiaxuan combined with western narratology theory.In the part of introduction,this paper makes a detailed combing of the current state of the narrative research on Jiaxuan Ci in the academic circles,and finds that the existing research results show the characteristics of fragmentation.In this regard,the purpose of this paper is aimed to systematically discuss the narrative of Jiaxuan Ci from the following chapters.The first chapter defines the "narrative" in the Ci,clarifying the differences between Ci and other styles in the narrative.Moreover,the narrative background of the Song Ci is taken a holistic view,further indicating that Jiaxuan Ci are mainly dominated by lyric,with the characteristics of narrative,and clearly expressing the order of priorities between lyricism and narrative in Jiaxuan Ci.The second chapter makes clear the different narrative forms of Jiaxuan Ci from the structure of the Ci,among which,the narrative embodiment in Ci tone is too weak to almost be ignored.The narrative manifestation in preface to Ci and its body exhibits strong: the preface generally pays attention to the objective and simple record of an event or a certain factor,while the Ci body is adept in using a variety of narrative techniques,such as plain and clear description and literary quotation,further presenting the sense of literary and the trace of emotion.The preface and the main body in Jianxuan Ci echo each other in the narrative.Specifically,the preface makes the body more vivid and profound in meaning,and the body also makes the emotion of preface to be continued and deepened.The third chapter discusses the narrative characteristics of Jiaxuan Ci,which emphasizes four aspects: narrative perspective,narrative order,dialogue narrative and allusion narrative.From the perspective of narrative,Jiaxuan Ci mainly lies in the perspective of self-narrative,partly from other perspectives.As for dialogue narrative,there exist massive dialogue narratives,with diverse forms and rich contents.Lyric poets express their own inner ideas in the dialogue of Ci,so the dialogue narrative can be regarded as another expression of poet's self.From the point of view of narrative order,Jiaxuan Ci involves four modes: the cross-view of the order,the clever conception of flat narrative,the straight opening of flashbacks and the interlaced use of various narrative techniques.From the allusion narrative,the realization of the allusion mainly achieves through the combination of events and classics.The fourth chapter analyzes the significance of its narrative in Song Ci by putting Jiaxuan Ci into its history.The narrative of Jiaxuan Ci not simple reflects the development of the narrative thinking and ability of the Song Ci,but enriches the narrative intonation as well.In addition,it can be seen that the narrative of Song Ci is more and more mature in terms of the narrative evolution from Su Shi to Xin Qiji.
