Application Of Shaman Totem In The Creation Of Digital Animated Short Films

Shaman Totem is a kind of culture full of ethnic and regional features.It is deeply rooted in the historical development of so many ethnic groups in North China.In the long history,Shaman Totem has formed its unique art styles.Through systematically and rationally analyzing and sorting out its art styles,the author has applied it in digital animated short film creation.As a result,Shaman Totem can make use of the powerful expressive force of digital animation,rely on the broad communication power of new media platform to realize innovation-oriented inheritance and development,and carry forward fine ethnic and regional culture to the younger generation,thus making humble contributions to enhancing the self-confidence of ethic culture.In the process of research,the author has mainly adopted literature review method,and collected materials on Shaman culture and totem,totem art,new media,and digital animation;then the author sorts out the artistic features of Shaman Totem through the analysis method;finally,the author adopts the method of practice to create works and design digital animated works containing Shaman Totem connotations.Chapter One is the introduction.It mainly discusses the research background and status of the research subject,main research content,research methods,research significance,and innovation points.As for research status,the author focuses on the research of domestic modern scholars and systematically sorts out and clarifies the research direction and content from the three aspects of the structure and establishment of Shaman cultural theoretical system,artistic pursuit of Shaman Totem,and the practice and research of Shaman Totem in digital animated creation.Chapter Two offers an overview of Shaman Totem to pave the way for subsequent application research.The author illustrates the relationship between Shaman culture and Shaman Totem,and clarifies the definition of Shaman Totem.Then,it deeply analyzes Shaman Totem from the three aspects of animal totem,plant totem,and natural totem,and clearly states that animal totem is the focus of creation.Chapter Three explains the artistic features of Shaman Totem and selects the two carriers of papercutting and embroidery covering religious activities and daily life;Then,the author analyzes its features from the four aspects of modeling,color,picture composition,and connotations and summarizes the artistic characteristics that are appropriate to be applied in digital animated creation.Chapter Four inherits and develops Shaman Totem by taking digital animation as the carrier and analyzes its major problems in the inheritance and development from Shaman Totem itself.Targeting the existing problems,the author discusses the advantages of digital animation as carriers under the background of new media.Chapter Five illustrates the detailed application of Shaman Totem in digital animation film The Ghost and conducts practical creation from the six aspects of subject matter,role design,scene design,color composition,picture composition application,and the extension and transformation of moral.While extending the artistic characteristics of Shaman Totem,the author also combines the concept of modern people to conduct innovative transformation on Totem to realize the objective of inheritance and development.Chapter Six discusses the two conclusions after studying the whole subject including the remodeling of Shaman Totem and the manifestation of traditional ethic culture under new media platforms.With the development of new media platforms,digital animation has become one of the main means of manifestation.Rationally applying excellent ethic culture and regional culture in the digital animation creation has not only provided a vast platform for its inheritance and development,but also enriched the connotations of local animations and enhanced the competitiveness of local animation.
