Collection And Research Of The Inscriptions On The Bronzes Of Ying State

As the first-hand materials of studying the culture of Ying state,the inscriptions on the bronzes of Ying state not only retained the form and structure of characters at that time,but also recorded lots of historical details,which have great academic value.At present,although the academic circles have made considerable achievements about the inscriptions,there is some inconvenience to find these achievements that are scattered in various works or articles.And with the emergence of new materials and new ideas,some problems need to be discussed again.Therefore,it is necessary to make a comprehensive and systematic study of the inscriptions on Ying bronzes.This paper takes 77 bronze inscriptions of Ying state chronicled in Shang Zhou Qing Tong Qi Ming Wen Ji Tu Xiang Ji Cheng,Shang Zhou Qing Tong Qi Ming Wen Ji Tu Xiang Ji Cheng Xu Bian and Zhong Yuan Wen Hua Da Dian· Wen Wu Dian as the main research objects,and make a research on the controversial characters and words of the inscriptions.At the end of this paper,combining with the above research,we make a table of inscriptions on the bronzes of Ying state that indicates the specific source of the bronzes in this paper,so that we can check them easily.The collection and research of the inscriptions on Ying bronzes contains two parts.The first part is the classification of the inscriptions on the bronzes of Ying state,to be specific,which is divided into three periods: the early,the middle and the late western zhou dynasty of the inscriptions on Ying bronzes and attaches importance to talk about the inscriptions' form,the research of difficult words,the pausing of inscriptions and other issues based on the previous studies,and then make judgments.The third part,on the premise of grasping the overall content of inscriptions,analyzes the external activities reflected by the inscriptions,which includes the exchanges between Ying state and Zhou state and the exchanges between Ying state and neighboring countries by the country information shown in the inscriptions.
