Gao jiabu Bronzes play a very important role in Shang and Zhou bronzes unearthed in Guanzhong area.There have been excavated six tombs of the early Western-Zhou Dynasty in Gao jiabu village of Jingyang in 1971 and 1991. The historical relics have been unearthed fron the tombs,including bronzes, potteries, jades and so on. Especially,there have been unearthed sixty bronzes fron the late of Shang Dynasty to the early of Western-Zhou Dynasty.In terms of their uses,they can be classified into cooking and food vessels,wine vessels,water vessels,weapons and so on.The cooking and food wessels include ding,li,yan and gui.The wine vessels include jue,ju,jia,zhi,zun,you,lei and dou.The water vessels include plates and he.The weapons includ ge,ji,swords,yue and arrowheads.Gao jiabu Bronzes are very important datas for studying bronzes fron the late of Shang Dynasty to the early of Western-Zhou Dynasty.This article is a comprehensive study on bronzes unearthed from graves in Gao jiabu village.This paper is divided in to six parts.The first part is introduction,including the reason of subjects,the geographic environment of the cemetery in Gao jiabu village,previous study on Gao jiabu bronzes,the clan of the cemetery in Gao jiabu,ideas and methods of this article's research,the innovation and lacks of this artical.The second part,periodization and relative dating of Gao jiabu Bronzes.The author divides the history of bronzes into two periods based on the typology archaeology. And then,the author will compare Gao jiabu Bronzes with those bronzes unearthed in tombs and handed-down bronzes from the late of Shang Dynasty to the early of Western-Zhou Dynasty in order to define the period scope and the era of the tombs.The forth part,based on the analysis of the cultural factors,we can find out that most of the Gao jiabu Bronzes belong to Shang system.In addition, according to the analysis of the cultural factors of Burial customs,we can assume that the graves in Gao jiabu is a cemetery of descendants of Yin people.The graves in Gao jiabu havu some similar culture features with other descendants of Yin people.The forth part,comparing Gao jiabu Bronzes with bronzes and bronzes composition of forth period Yinxu and bronzes compositin of the early Western-Zhou Dynasty,we can find out that Gao jiabu Bronzes have clear features of the early Western-Zhou Dynasty.The features can be used as important standards to distinguish Shang and Zhou bronzes.The fifth part,comparing Gao jiabu Bronzes with the bronzes from the Shanxi and Shananxi Plteau and bronze culture in Jinghe,we will discuss the relationship between them and the reason why Ge clan appeared in Gao jiabu.The last part is conclusion.The author will conclude the ideas of this article.According to the conciusion of this article,the cemetery in Gao jiabu is a very important cemetery of descendants of Yin people in the early Western-Zhou Dynasty.Gao jiabu Bronzes can be used as important standards to indentify cultural relics of the descendants of Yin people and distinguish Shang and Zhou bronzes.It is the purpose and signification of this article.
