China has a long history and is rich in resources.Chinese culture develops in this soil of civilization and presents a colorful cultural scene.Intangible cultural heritage is a "living art".Its existence cannot be separated from the unique production and life style of each nation. It shows the characteristics of a nation and its sense of belonging. Therefore, intangible cultural heritage plays a vital role in the development of Chinese history. The main way to inherit intangible cultural heritage is to "pass it on from person to person",so its protection and inheritance need "inheritors".Based on this, the biggest problem facing the continuation of the cultural tradition of intangible cultural heritage is fail to be handed down from past generations.Secondly, the gradual blending of culture and commercialization has gradually made culture "utilitarian".The development of science and technology has promoted media innovation, and then the development of media has further provided broad growth space for the initiation and development of non-heritage documentaries.Non-heritage documentary has become an important recording method for the development of a country and national culture with its“real image recording”.As a mirror showing social and historical changes, exploring the original natural features and showing the life of characters,it has both the characteristics of the times and humanistic feelings.“Truth” is the core feature and foundation of documentary. This paper focuses on exploring the advantages and disadvantages of non-heritage documentaries in non-heritage protection.Taking the “Mongolian saddle” culture as an example, the author describes narrative strategy and narrative skills of the non-heritage documentary "Heroes on Horseback".
