Volunteer service is an important symbol of modern social civilization progress.The 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)made the followin g statement: "Deepen the spiritual civilization activities of the mass,carry out volunteer service extensively and promote the normalization of "Learn-from-Lei-Feng Activity” and publicity of mortal models." China's volunteer service development is facing many chances and chal enges,to promote the harmonious development of society,it is of great significance to research volunteers,especially to study their behaviors.This research based on positive psychology theory,adopted positive psychological capital questionnaire,volunteer functio n motivation inventory and volunteer behavior questionnaire to surveying.This study had collected 1055 questionnaires,including 661 volunteers and 394 non-volunteers.After inputting the data,this study analyzed the Characteristic of psychological capital,voluntar y motivations and voluntary behaviors of volunteer and the mainly relationship among them.The results showed that:(1)The score of psychological capital has significant difference between the voluntee rs and non-volunteers,and volunteers to score higher than the non-volunteers.For voluntee rs with jobs,the score of psychological capital is higher than those not work yet.The voluntee rs who got the highest education degree has the highest score of psychological capital.There is no significant differences between the volunteers of bachelor's degree and volunteers of graduate degrees.There is no significant differences for psychological capital in gender.(2)The male volunteers have higher scores of volunteer motivation than the female ones,especially differences in the dimension of self-protection.The volunteers in employment are with higher scores than the un-employed ones not only in volunteer motivation but other six dimensions.As for the education level,the senior has the highest score between another two education level volunteers and has significant differences with undergraduate volunteers.(3)The score of volunteer behavior has significant difference between the voluntee rs and non-volunteers,and volunteers to score higher than the non-volunteers.For the variable of work status,it does matter and have obvious differences in volunteer behavior.Moreover,the volunteers in employment have higher scores than those unemployed in volunte er behavior.Volunteers with different levels of education have significant differences in volunteer behavioral scores,the senior has the highest score between another two education level volunteers.There is no significant differences between the volunteers of bachelor's degree and volunteers of graduate degrees.There is no significant differences of volunte er behavior in gender.(4)Psychological capital can positively predict volunteer behavior and it can generally positively predict volunteer motivation while the volunteer motivation can positively predict volunteer behavior.Volunteer motivation plays a mediating role in psychological capital's influence on voluntary behavior.It can be concluded that the psychological capital and voluntary motivation is both affected by work status and education levels.Psychological capital not only can predict volunteer behavior directly but also can affects volunteer behavior through volunte er motivation indirectly.To develop the psychological capital of volunteer can promote the volunteers produce more voluntary behavior.
