A Research Of Sha Meng Hai's Cursive Script And Own Calligraphy Creation

As a widely acknowledged calligraphy giant in 20~thh century throughout the contemporary era of calligraphy with affluence in brilliance,Sha Menghai was well-known for his hand writing covering seal,clerical,formal,running and cursive scripts.Of these,running and cursive scripts,known as‘Sha's Style'in calligraphy community and served as the writing style of Characters written across the arch of a palace gate famous to those from all over the world,were full of power and grandeur.In other words,running and cursive scripts represent the top level in the calligraphic art.The thesis begins with generating context of his calligraphic art using the top scripts as a breakthrough point,and focuses mainly on study on his style of running and cursive scripts through an in-depth analysis over various characteristics of his works during different periods.Besides,the effect of Sha's Style on self-creation of calligraphy is discussed based on decipherment of his skills of running and cursive scripts.
