As an organic part of the culture,literary ideas and literary skills have largely fueled the development of media culture in the new century,thus making the media culture a common phenomenon in modern life.Documentaries,a niche used to be unknown by the public,have gradually gained more public attention than before.Naturally,the culture behind them becomes a vital topic worth research.Based on the literary vision,this paper studies the humanistic documentaries on Tibet produced in the new century especially those after 2010.Comprising of five chapters,this paper not only makes theoretical elaborations but also analyzes some specific cases,so as to explore the manifestation,application,and influence of literary ideas and literary expressions in this type of works.The first chapter defines the two concepts of humanistic documentaries on Tibet and literary vision,sorts out the development of such documentaries,and summarizes the relevant research status.Also,the author shares her research scopes,ideas,and approaches in the chapter.The second chapter mainly explores the profound cultures behind such documentaries.From the synchronic and diachronic perspectives,Tibet indeed boasts rich cultural heritage that can be fully reflected by humanistic documentaries.The portrayal of such documentaries reflects its inherent literary features,which are embodied in three aspects,namely authenticity,imagination,and emotion.To be specific,this paper firstly analyzes the authenticity,and points put that the authenticity is the basis;then identifies the importance of imagination and fiction for the humanistic documentaries on Tibet,after analyzing some typical works;and lastly explores the role of emotion as a bridge between these works and the audience from the view of literary sentiment.The third chapter introduces the literary expression of such documentaries,which is mainly embodied in four ingredients:narrative texts,character images,Tibetan wonders,and narrative strategies.This paper selects some typical works,and analyzes how the fouringredients are applied in them.In particular,it firstly studies the characteristics and functions of the narrative texts in those works;secondly,classifies and analyzes the character images into three types—those sticking to their original lifestyle,those accepting new concepts,and those returning back their hometown;thirdly,analyzes how Tibetan wonders are reflected in the documentaries;and lastly shows how different narrative strategies are applied in such works.The fourth chapter stresses that this type of documentaries should be dialectically viewed,because their aesthetic interest is falling due to superficial themes,although the past century has witnessed breakthroughs in their topics and creation ideas.The conclusion part summarizes the significance and limitations of this paper.Literature can be applied to greatly improve the quality of humanistic documentaries on Tibet.Moreover,the application makes these documentaries indispensable in building national cultural identity and allows the Chinese national culture more distinct in today's increasingly assimilated world,thereby better shaping China's image and conveying the Chinese voice.
