Listening and speaking skills are always an important part as well as a difficult phase of English teaching. However,as the vital stage of English learning, college school English education pays more attention to mechanized ways to train students to recite and remember knowledge rather than the inner understanding and external application due to the lack of the authentic language learning contexts, which leads to students' poor listening and speaking ability. In order to solve the problem that the English listening and speaking skills of college students are not effectively cultivated in the traditional classroom, under the guidance of CALL,the current study integrates MyET into English listening class to stimulate students' interest, cultivates students' ability of autonomous learning, and improves their English listening and speaking proficiency.MyET is a new online English learning software, which is supported by the Internet to help practice students' listening and spoken English. This study aims to address the following three research questions:Question 1: What are students' perceptions towards enhancing the autonomous learning in listening and speaking by taking activities in MyET?Question 2: To what extent can students' listening proficiency be improved?Question 3: To what extent can students' speaking level be improved, especially pronunciation? This study selected 64 college students of English majors who were taught by the same teacher in the first grade in a university of Northeast China, and implemented the experiment for 16 weeks. The subjects were divided into control group and experimental group. In the control group, the existing listening teaching mode was carried out,and MyET was assisted in the experimental group.Using statistical software SPSS19.0 to analyze the qualitative and quantitative data. The results indicate that EC students' autonomous learning ability has been enhanced, and there was a significant difference between the two conditions in aspect of speaking proficiency, including pronunciation.Another striking result to emerge from the data is that no significant increase of listening associated with MyET.Finally, the paper summarizes and reflects the research achievements and existing problems during the experimental process, and proposes some suggestions, which are expected to be beneficial for students' learning, teachers' teaching and further research.
