This paper takes 15 love stories from three sets of Chinese graded reading materials: The Chinese Library Series,Rainbow Bridge Graded Chinese Reader and Learning Chinese Graded Reading as the research objects.It makes a comparative analysis from three aspects: corpus,content and form.It also explores the compilation of love stories and Chinese language through the data statistics of story texts,121 questionnaires for foreign students,20 post-reading interviews for junior and middle school students and 8 interviews with Chinese teachers.The use of language-graded reading materials and corresponding suggestions are put forward.The main conclusions of this paper: In terms of story corpus,the proportion of Grade A words in the three sets of graded readings is low,the proportion of super-class words is high,the recurrence rate of new words is low,and the average sentence length is long.The length of the text at the 500-word level of Learning Chinese Graded Reading is too long for the intermediate level.In terms of story content,The Chinese Library Series has a simpler plot and fewer cultural points.Rainbow Bridge Graded Chinese Reader and Learning Chinese Graded Reading have more rich plots and more cultural points.In practice,Learning Chinese Graded Reading does not set up exercises,and the other two sets of reading exercises each have their own focus,advantages and disadvantages.In terms of reading form,the three sets of reading illustrations basically contain the key plots of the love story,but the illustration style and character image vary from one reading to another.In terms of typesetting,there are new words in the text of Rainbow Bridge Graded Chinese Reader and Learning Chinese Graded Reading,which is more practical and instrumental than The Chinese Library Series.In addition,combined with the results of international students questionnaires and interviews,junior high school students know less about ancient Chinese love stories;in addition to classic love stories,students are also interested in romantic,ghosts and love stories in life.From thecurrent situation of the use of extra-curricular graded reading materials,the foreign students in the junior high school stage have less contact with the Chinese graded reading materials,and more than half of the students said that they have not seen it;the foreign students have less extracurricular reading and shorter reading time;the teachers also recommend less to the students.Therefore,the use of Chinese graded reading materials in the Chinese Academy is not ideal.The main suggestions of this paper are as follows: from the point of view of the compilation of love stories,it mainly puts forward corresponding suggestions for the corpus,the content and the form of the stories.From the selection of love stories,the current selection of love stories is concentrated in ancient Chinese love stories.Therefore,we should pay more attention to the diversity of love stories in different regions,times and cultural backgrounds.We can also further develop the adaptation resources of Strange Tales from a Liao zhai Studio and love stories in excellent Chinese poetry.In the compilation of Chinese graded reading materials,the object is not balanced enough,so we should compile more graded reading materials suitable for zero basic and elementary level,and the choice of topics should be based on the needs of the object.From the point of view of the use of Chinese graded reading materials,their usage is not ideal,which needs the cooperation and promotion of colleges,libraries,teachers and foreign students.
