The topic chain is one of the important ways to organize Chinese text.Taking the Chinese topic chain as the object,this paper tries to explore learners' acquisition of the rules of Chinese text structure as a second language,and accordingly put forword some suggestions for the teaching of Chinese as a second language.Based on this idea,this paper is divided into three parts: ontology research,acquisition research and teaching research.The ontological research is focused on the structural characteristics of the Chinese topic chain's inside sentences(commonly known as “clauses”).The number of anaphoric pronouns and the number of correlative components in the sentences are taken as three basic indicators,this paper makes a qualitative and quantitative comparative analysis of the Chinese topic chain and its corresponding English.this paper intends to reveal the differences between Chinese and English text construction rules and presents the characteristics of Chinese text structure----chunky and discrete.The study found that there are more in-text sentences in Chinese topic chain more than that in English,while the anaphoric pronouns and conjunctive components are less than that in English.The statistical analysis results show that there are statistically significant differences in the comparison of the above three indicators between Chinese and English.The quantitative statistical results of the above three indicators provide referential standard values for the study of acquisition.In the part of acquisition research,28 learners taking Chinese as the second language were tested by variable controlled translation tests,this paper investigates the acquisition of Chinese text construction rules as a second language learner.The comparison between this empirical research result and the standard value from the ontology research shows that: as for the control of the number of in-text sentences and the number of anaphoric pronouns,those learners are greatlyaffected by the negative transfer of their mother tongue,and the Chinese text structure they given is not ideal in these two indicators.But in terms of conjunctive components,learners can not only understand the characteristics that Chinese text conjunctive components are less than those of English,but also consciously control the number of them in the process of Chinese text construction.In the teaching research part,based on the above research results,the paper discusses how to overcome the negative transfer of mother tongue,and how to deal with text structure rules in textbook compilation and teaching process,and provides some suggestions for the text teaching of Chinese as a second language.
