The study was theoretically based on the research on zero anaphora,applying research methods like quantitative analysis,contrastive analysis and error analysis.200 compositions of advanced Korean students around 89 thousands words were chosen from HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus as the study materials.The study examined the use of noun anaphora,pronoun anaphora and zero anaphora respectively,distinguishing between the first person and the third person.1141 zero anaphoras were divided into four categories and compared with the study of native Chinese,including670 zero anaphoras from the fisrt person materials and 471 zero anaphoras from the third person materials.On the one hand,1042 correct use of zero anaphoras were classified by the syntactic position of anaphor: anaphors in subject,anaphors in attribute,anaphors in object and anaphors in other positions,and the rate and accuracy of each type were discussed.On the other hand,153 errors were divided into 4 categories with a detailed error analysis: misusing zero anaphora as pronoun,misusing pronoun as zero anaphora,misusing zero anaphora as noun,and misusing noun as zero anaphora,and the data was compared with that of European students.The research found that the amount of zero anaphora uesd by advanced Korean students was higher than that of advanced European students but lower than nativeChinese.Personal pronoun influenced the distribution of zero anaphora,in which the third-person pronoun zero anaphora performed better than the first-person pronoun.The overall accuracy of zero anaphora was very high,and the advanced Korean students tended to use it as subject,but seldom as object.The primary type of zero anaphora error of advanced Korean students was misusing pronoun as zero anphora,which was absolutely different from that of European students.The main reasons for the errors included the same subject in a topic chain,the possessive phrases,the topic change,the complex sentences in a topic chain,and the temporal words,among which the possessive phrases and the topic change were most significant.The study also put forward some zero anaphora teaching suggestions for advanced Korean students.
