Liaison interpreting is the earliest and most frequently used form of interpreting.Based on the author's real liaison interpreting practice,this report discusses nonintelligence factors in liaison interpreting.Through case study,the author makes indepth analyses of the problems she encountered from a non-intelligence perspective and finds that there are four crucial non-intelligence factors interpreter trainees shall develop: cultural appropriateness,teamwork spirit,service awareness and mental endurance.Based on this,the author proposes corresponding coping strategies,both for individuals and classroom teaching,as well as suggesting that interpreter trainees should participate in more interpreting practice,in a bid to raise the awareness of the importance of non-intelligence factors and help more interpreter trainees to enhance their comprehensive competence.
