| With the continuous development of China’s economy and the continuous deepening of economic exchanges, interpreters play increasingly important roles in intercultural communication.Though liaison interpreting is one of the most common and extensive forms of interpreting in various diplomatic and business activities, most of the researches on interpreting focus on consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting, and there are relatively few concerns on liaison interpreting. This report is a liaison interpreting practice report based on the author’s interpreting practice during the EU-China Municipal Development Commission(ECMDC)and World Film Institute(WFI)’s inspection tour in Liangqing District of Nanning. The report details the whole task like background of the task,pre-task preparation, the liaison interpreting process, and post-task evaluation.Through this practice, the author found that the interpreter’s handling of the atmosphere of the scene and the real intentions of the speakers, and the appropriate interpreting strategies selected accordingly, have a positive impact on the result of the on-site communication. And the theoretical research on interpreter’s subjectivity provides effective theoretical support for this.In a nutshell, the interpreter’s subjectivity mainly discusses how interpreter properly plays his or her subjective initiative according to objective conditions in translation activities, especially in interpreting activities. On account of this, the report discusses the characteristics of liaison interpreting and the reasonable use of interpreter’s subjectivity in liaison interpreting, divides the different cases into the verbal aspects and non-verbal aspects, respectively analyzes the most appropriate interpreting tactics used in various situations, and gives a preliminary discussion on the significance of the interpreter’s subjective initiative for improving the effects of liaison interpreting. Finally, the author summarizes the report and enlightenment hoping it can provide some reference for future practice and related study. |
