On The Application And Artistic Expression Of Opera Ele Ments In Erhu Works

Chinese folk operas,bearing the collective memory and artistic processing of people for thousands of years,have gone through a long history and become a comprehensive art form close to people’s life with abundant content and perfect form.Its types of plays are various and active,and its composition is rich and diverse.Different types of plays have their own unique national characteristics and styles in their respective distribution areas.With the expansion and improvement of folk artists from generation to generation,gradually accumulated into a set of relatively mature and stable performance methods.Such characteristics of non-closed culture with rules to follow and variability,as well as the artistic character recognized by the world,undoubtedly provide rich materials for the creation of national music.Erhu,as one of the most characteristic stringed instruments in traditional Chinese musical instruments,has its own timbre characteristics and rich artistic expression,which has unique advantages in absorbing and expressing opera music.Erhu is closely connected with opera from its origin in form and content system.However,the use of erhu music has put emphasis on the selection and application of opera music elements since modern times.Many erhu works are adapted and transplanted from traditional Chinese opera music.After that,a large number of modern erhu music works are written by combining folk opera music elements and western modern composition techniques.During this period,excellent composers,performers,repertoires and music theories are constantly emerging.The addition of opera music has truly realized the win-win value of “nationalization” and “modernization” for the presentation of erhu music.The application of traditional opera elements,folk culture and performance skills provides a lot of nutrients for excellent erhu works.The creation and performance of erhu works on opera music “tune style” is also an exploration of multiple innovative ways of Chinese traditional opera.This paper aims to study the three common operas in erhu works.Through the performance of music elements in erhu works,such as different types of plays,tunes,plate-types and so on,the reasonable expression of Erhu performance on opera music culture,and the common prosperity and development of Erhu art and Chinese opera music,the paper makes a detailed analysis and discussion on the opera elements in erhu works.The research focuses on the tune and plate features of Beijing opera,Henan Opera and Qin opera,and takes the parallel comparison of the detailed performance of these three opera styles in erhu works with performance skills as the research innovation.Based on the rational expression of erhu to different styles of opera music,this paper discusses the inevitability and artistry of the integration of erhu and opera.
