Indonesia is the biggest habitation of overseas Chinese descendants, and there is about 6 million Chinese descendants live on the thousands of islands of Indonesia. These Chines descendants mostly come from costal provinces like Guangdong and Fujian.Hakka descendants occupies a large percentage of them, about 2 million.Hakka descendants in Indonesia live in multi-language environment,so they would be influenced by their mother language Hakka dialect and Indonesian while they study Chinese mandarin. Therefore Indonesian and Hakka dialect are the very important language background to study the influences in their study process. With the great development of dialect research in China and experimental phonetics, the study of Hakka phonetic system and phonetic of Indonesian has made a big progress these years. It provides us theoretical and technological supports to study the language background and phonological errors of Hakka descendants. After displaying the language background of Hakka students,we will trace and record the phonological errors in their study and practices to find out the frequent errors and their characteristics. Moreover, the causes of these errors would be analysed. On this basis,we would come up with some niche targeting methods to mandarin phonetic education and phonological error correction. We hope this can provide some references and help to the related studies of mandarin phonetic education and phonological error correction of Hakka students.
