With the rapid development of the world and the growth of economic globalization,China has become a second economic power in the world,and has entered into trading partner with many countries.China's education industry has also reached higher development.In recent years,Chinese education has attracted many countries,including Indonesia,more and more students are learning Chinese,of course the requirements for teaching materials are higher and higher,because the quality of teaching materials will directly effect the teaching process and success or failure of the teaching.Today,many schools in Indonesia have been using books from Chinese publications,but some also use books from Singapore,Malaysia,Indonesia.This thesis is about a comparison of Hanyu's Chinese-published book that has been frequently used against the Meihua book which is a new publication from Indonesia,examining important differences from these 2 books in term of language elements,content of reading,reading exercises and so on.The entire thesis consists of 5 parts,more specifically as follows:Chapter 1,introduction.An overview of the meaning of the research,reviewing the two textbooks and a brief introduction of the two textbooks.Chapter 2,dealing with the language elements from the two textbooks.This chapter introduces important parts of languages,including Chinese phonetics,Chinese characters,vocabulary and grammar,which compares and analyzes methods of presentation,design of practice exercises,and the number of each part and so on.Chapter 3 is about readings comparison between the two textbooks,from reading exercises,reading topics,reading layout,to reading content.Chapter 4 is the research questionnaires and book writing suggestions.With the questionnaires as a basis to draw a conclusion on the advantages and disadvantages of both books,exploring and evaluating both books from the point of view of both teacher and students,further exploration of the textbooks.Chapter 5 is the conclusion.Based on the comparative analysis of this paper,the advantages and disadvantages of the two sets of teaching materials are summarized and suggestions are made.
