The Study On The English Version Of Big Breasts And Wide Hips From The Aesthetic Psychological Mechanism In Translation

Aesthetic Psychology in Translation,as a branch of Translation Aesthetics,provides new approaches for the study of translation theory and solving the issues of translation practice.Based on the frame of the Aesthetic Psychological Mechanism in translation by Professor Yan Linhai and combined with the analytical methods of aesthetic qualities of these scholars such as Liu Miqing and Mao Ronggui,this thesis aims to study translators' aesthetic psychological processes and tries to explore the influence of translators' aesthetic psychology on the quality of translated texts by the comparative analysis of aesthetic qualities in the original text and the translated text.This research firstly selects some typical examples in Big Breasts and Wide Hips from the four levels: speech sounds,words and phrases,sentences and discourses.And then it separately analyzes the aesthetic qualities in the original text and Goldblatt's version from the levels of form and content,elucidates their similarities and differences,and explores Goldblatt's representation and deficiency of the aesthetic qualities in the original text.Its purpose is to objectively analyze Goldblatt's aesthetic psychological processes such as aesthetic observation,aesthetic experience and perception,and aesthetic appreciation and judgement.Meanwhile,this thesis tries to find the answers for the following questions during the analysis of examples.How does the mobilization of translators' aesthetic psychological processes affect the quality of translated texts? How do translators properly control their aesthetic psychological processes in order to represent the aesthetic qualities of original texts in high limit? Do translators' aesthetic psychological processes need to be severely restricted by aesthetic objects?Finally,the following conclusions can be reached: 1.If a translator fully mobilizes certain aesthetic psychological process,the aesthetic qualities and intention of original texts would be represented effectively,which could maximize the aesthetic effect of original texts.On the contrary,the aesthetic effect of original texts may be damaged or lost;2.Translators' aesthetic psychological processes need to work together,which could reproduce the aesthetic qualities of original texts in high limit.Conversely,the aesthetic qualities of original texts would suffer a great loss;3.Aesthetic psychological processes have two basic features: subjective initiative and being restricted by aesthetic objects.Namely,translators,under the control of the aesthetic qualities in the form and content level,need actively finish various aesthetic psychological processes in order to achieve the maximized equivalence of the aesthetic effect between original texts and translated texts.
