The science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China was born in the period of modern and contemporary literature and cultural transformation,at the same time,it also contains a strong concern complex for social reality.This paper starts from the study of the strong realistic concern complex in the science fiction of this period,and then explores the development and evolution of the science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China under the guidance of this complex,and its profound influence on the development of Chinese science fiction.The research goal of this paper is divided into five steps: First,the basic concept of science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,the reasons for the rise of science fiction and research at home and abroad to a simple comb;Secondly,it explains the basic ways of showing concern about social reality in science fiction from two aspects: Longing for ideal world and criticizing Realistic Society;Thirdly,it analyzes the different characteristics of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China in which the science fiction concerned the social reality;The fourth is to analyze the reasons for the decline of science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,combining the defects of the artistic value of the novels and the literary realism of The Times;Finally,it analyzes the profound influence of the concerned reality of science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China on the development of literature from two dimensions: The dissemination of the scientific democratic spirit and the criticism of the national bad root.This article consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part,which mainly defines the basic concept of science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,and on the basis of summing up the previous research results,the basic ideas and research methods of this paper are elaborated.The second chapter mainly discusses the basic ways of concern about social reality in the science fiction of the late Qing Dynasty and the early republic of China,including longing for the ideal world and criticizing the real society.The third chapter mainly discusses that science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China shows different characteristics of concern about social reality.From the main emotional tone,the "reality" in the science fiction of the late Qing Dynasty presents an optimistic state of actively imagining the future world with science fiction as a tool,in the early Republic of China,science fiction is mainly characterized by two aspects: criticism of reality,passive and calm,and entertainment driven by commercial interests.The Fourth Chapter analyzes the reasons why the science fiction gradually declined in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,after the May 4th new literature emerged,from the defects of the science fiction itself and the pursuit of the literary realism.The fifth chapter mainly analyzes the concrete characteristics of the hidden spiritual connection between the science fiction and the May 4th literature from the two dimensions of the dissemination of the scientific democratic spirit and the criticism of the national bad root,combined with the general situation of the development of Science Fiction Literature,it discusses the profound influence of science fiction on the development of Chinese Science Fiction Literature.The epilogue is to review the achievements of science fiction in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China from the perspective of the trend of science fiction.
