The modern science fiction originated in the historical background that traditional China wasfacing collapse and born in the contextual times that the western discourse spread to the east. It wasunprecedented prosperity in the late Qing Dynasty, but slipped edge after the New Cultural Movement.Although its exists time was short, but it lead a person to endless aftertastes its gorgeous and fragrance inthe history of modern Chinese literature. At the same time, it participated and influenced in the historicalprocessof the Chinese literarymodernization.In this paper, on the basis of mining, sorting and collating historical materials, I try to restore themodern science fiction to its own historical and cultural contexts.And then put it in the overall vision ofthe development of Chinese literature to explore its features and literary historical significance in thethree-dimensional coordinate of Western discourse, traditional culture and modern Chinese literature.And expect through it to revisit the richness and diversity of the Chinese literary modernization inpluralistic discourse systems.The introduction describes the background and significance of this paper, previous research,concept definition and range of the modern science fiction, research methods and innovations of thispaper.The first chapter is a general grasp and awareness of the modern science fiction. Analyze thesituation of its creation and translation in late Qing and early Republic.And then classifies it.Then mainlysummarized and analyzed it again from several aspects such as its form,content and stylisticcharacteristics.The second chapter breakthrough the research ideas that translated works plays the role of aone-way on creations to review the relationship between the modern science fiction and westerndiscourse. Put forward that the modern science fiction that described the backward China showedpassivity when it faced with western discourse. At the same time, it also made a departure and revolt tosuchstrong westerndiscourse in the works through extremeimagine newwomenandimagine racewar.The third chapter breakthrough the research perspective of modernity, to have a new exploration onthe relationship between the modern science fiction and traditional culture. Put forward that the modernscience fiction highlights the modern characterization from traditional culture in addition to the narrative.On the one hand, the modern science fiction imitated the characteristics of the traditional novels. Such as structural forms, imagery, lyrical way, characters, themes. On the other hand, the modern science fictionalso creatively transformed the traditional culture. Such as traditional images, traditional geographicconcepts, traditional knowledge structure, traditional morality and traditional "benevolence" thinking ofthe Confucianism.The fourth chapter breakthrough the time limit to deepen the thinking of the relationshipbetween the modern science fiction and modern Chinese literature. Put forward that the existence of thepatient and the doctor in novels and their relationships, to some extent, can be seen as a preview ofnational critique and enlighten of the New Culture Movement. Those novels that extreme imagine newwomen opened a national grand narrative writing mode to modern Chinese literature. Those Utopianfictions that both intervene realistic and ideal for the future opened a writing mode in which modernChinese literature launchedallegorical imagination of nation-state.The final conclusion describes the reality that description about the modern science fiction is notenough in the current literary history books. And also brief a summary of my research to give someinspire for future research. In the appendix at the end of the article, I conducted a remedy and supplementof Modern science fiction books. Tohope that helpresearchersin termsof information inthe future.
