A Comparative Study Of Liu Yong's And Zhou Bangyan's Ci Under The Collision And Fusion Of Refined And Popular Culture

At first,Ci Poetry appeared as the lyric of music,and later became the poet's works.There are internal contradictions between musicality and literariness,entertainment function and lyrical function.In the introduction part of this paper,firstly,the establishment of refined and popular Ci poetry circles and the construction of different Ci Poetry functions are clarified.The revival of the singing activities in the folk whorehouse and aristocratic banquet in Renzong period of the Northern Song Dynasty marks that the Ci Poetry has become a common construction of the refined culture of the upper scholars and the popular culture of the lower ones,forming the two Ci Poetry circles.There are different requirements for the function construction of Ci in the confrontation and communication between the two Ci Poetry circles.For the folk,Ci Poetry,as a popular song of cultural consumption,focuses on the musical and entertainment functions,while for the scholars,it should first be readable poetry,pursuing the literary and lyrical functions.iu Yong's Ci,which is slandered by scholars and sung byfolk people,if the reasons are explored,the collision between elegance and custom is reflected in the emphasis on musicality and entertainment function,but the lack of literariness and lyric function.Zhou Bangyan's Ci,which is widely loved by both folk and scholars,is a combination of music and literature,lyric and entertainment.The first chapter compares the common features of the melodious melody of Liu and Zhou Ci,which is the primary factor that Liu and Zhou can sing in folk.The second chapter compares the content of Liu Yong and Zhou Bangyan's Ci.They take joys and sorrow of love and offical travels as main theme in their works that are easy to be understood by ordinary people,which are helpful to enhance the entertainment function,which is the common feature of them.The difference lies in the fact that the ordinary content of Liu Yong Ci reveals the basic color of citizens' interest,weakens the literariness,but Zhou Bangyan's Ci can integrate the elegant taste into it.The third chapter compares the narrative techniques of Liu Yong's and Zhou Bangyan's Ci.The plain narration,which conclude storyline and detail description that originates in folk literature,and direct depiction are helpful to enhance the entertainment function.These are the common feature of Liu Yong's and Zhou Bangyan's Ci.Liu Yongci's simple narration leads to theshortcomings of shallow and straightforward,and its literariness is insufficient.Zhou Bangyan's works can use the method of driving multiple time-space transformation,which is implicit and tortuous,and has strong literariness.The fourth chapter compares the language of their writings.Both of them have used slang in writing,which makes the ordinary people easy to be pleased.However,the vulgar side of Liu Yong's Ci language weakens its literariness,while Zhou Bangyan's literariness is strengthened through the fusion of Tang poetry and its richness and precision.In the conclusion,this paper attempts to understand the relationship between Liu Yong and Zhou Bangyan's Ci and the status of Zhou Bangyan's Ci from the "new" perspective.From the perspective of literariness,the predecessors thought that Zhou Bangyan's Ci originated from Liu Yong's Ci and could surpass it.Moreover,the thesis of Zhou Bangyan's Ci's historical position of "Master" was made.If from the perspective of Ci Poetry's concept,Zhou Bangyan's Ci can not only capture the advantages and disadvantages of Liu Yong's Ci,which emphasizes music and entertainment functions,but also avoid the disadvantages of Liu Yong's lack of literature and lyric functions,then the relationship can rise to the understanding of the core level of Ci Poetry'sconcept and function construction of Ci Poetry.The understanding of Zhou Bangyan's position of "Master" can also go beyond the specific literary level to the level of core Ci Poetry's concept.
