Research On The Sealing Methods Of Documents During The Qin And Han Dynasties

Qin and han documents were sealed before being sent in order to prevent people from peeking.Since the 20 th century,a large number of slips and slips related to document sealing have been unearthed,which provides great convenience for the related research of document inspection in the qin and han dynasties.This paper focuses on the inspection of documents in the qin and han dynasties,makes full use of the handed down documents and unearthed slips on the basis of extensive study of previous research results,and makes a comprehensive investigation and research on the form,sealing method and signature of the inspection of documents in the qin and han dynasties.The forms and systems of document inspection can be divided into three categories: letter seal,mud box and seal and inspection.Each type can be divided into several subtypes according to the specific differences of its forms and systems.Through the characteristics and changes of the inspection form of documents in qin and han dynasties,it is found that the letter seal which was sharpened at the lower end of the qin dynasty gradually changed into the rectangular board without the sharpening at the lower end of the han dynasty.From the qin dynasty to the han dynasty,there was no blank seal box with clear information of documents and postal service.Most of the sealing and inspection with sealing chute appeared in the han dynasty.Document inspection general way of sealing is in the seal on the inspection,and the answer to the rope about,to fill with mud,in accordance with the seal,and then the title of the person,after the mud is hard,not broken seal or cut off the sealing rope is not easy to open the document.The function of letter seal,seal and seal box is different with the change of time and the difference of region.Type A type I letter seal can be used to seal documents alone,type A type II letter seal is mainly used with seal and inspection,no word seal box.A letter may be largely and no words of II type cement cartridge collocation is used,at the time of the file sent,seal the letter in the mail messages indicating direction,no words lute sealed box used to let mud,after waiting for documents to destination,to seal the letter written receipt record to archive for future reference,and after unsealed no words lute box,when sending the letter can be in the next match again letter of reuse.The inspection of documents in qin and han dynasties and the receipt and despatching of official documents are closely related to the operation and unsealing.From the point of view of the writer,a document can be divided into two parts.Second,after the document is delivered to the destination of the recipient for archiving records written by the receipt,because of the purpose of use of different,the two written signature content is also different.From the perspective of the author and the receiver,it is found that there are no in-receipt records in some of the in-receipt records,because they are written on the back of the main text of the document.The difference of the in-receipt records written by the author reflects the differences in the use system of the document inspection in the north and south.
