In the vast northern grassland of China,the Mongolian culture is a shining star over the course of history.Mongolian culture is inherited from ancient northern nomads(i.e.Huns,Xianbei,Rouran,Huihe,Turkic,and Tulle).Its traditional song is also an important artistic element of its charm culture and history,which is specialty in unique attraction,long-lasting history and endless imagination.This particular artistic style has definitely influenced the musical creativity of the composers in this century.Reform and Opening Policy brought music creation to a new peak in Inner Mongolia,especially the arising of certain outstanding composers.Professor Shixiang Li is one of these pioneers.He efficiently combined Mongolian music elements with Western music creation and fully developed the potential and creativity of Mongolian music,which brought a great value of research and study.This essay applies the method of performance theory to analyze the following songs created by Professor Shi-xiang Li: Mongolian vocal art “My Prairie Wind”;aria “Swan Goose Would Not Break its Wings”;national song “Love From Milk Tea”,“The Prairie Welcome Zhao-jun”;the eclectic style song “My Clear River”,“Willow Branches” and other works to perform the singing analysis,from the perspective of singing methods,skills of applying the emotional processing and interpretation of the second creation.The significance of this paper is to explore the rules of creation and singing through studying the creation and performance characteristics of Professor Shi-xiang Li's prairie style vocal music works,so as to provide theoretical and academic reference for those who sing and study prairie style vocal music works.
