This report is based on the translation of Hundred Years' War written by the British military historian Charles William Chadwick Oman.Throughout history, many scholars and translators both at home and abroad have expressed their views on keeping style in translation. Some advocated "elegance",some insisted "spirit likeness",and some others pursued "charm".Compared with the discussion on the style of translation, the methodology of how to represent the style of the source text in target text in the process of translation is very limited. After completing this translation practice, the author became aware that the representation of the style of the source text is such an important part of translation, that any responsible translator should pay more attention to it in the process of translation. Therefore, from the perspective of historical texts' translation, the author takes this translation practice as her research object, focusing on those strategies that help her represent the style in target text so as to "preserve the charm of the original".The report consists of six parts. The first part is the task description, which introduces the background, significance and requirements of the task. The second part is the task process, including three aspects: namely, preparation before translation, translation process, and revision after translation. The third part is a detailed analysis and cause analysis of the problems encountered in the process of completing the first draft of translation. The fourth part is the introduction of the theory guiding the author during the process of her revision of the first draft. The fifth part is the case analysis, starting from the three principles: adaptability, rigorousness, and rhetoric,it discusses ten specific strategies of reproducing the source text style in target text. The sixth part is practice summary, including the author's experience and gains.
