With the advent of the era of globalization,core competence is highly valued by all countries in the world,and then becomes the focus of close attention when international organizations and countries carry out education reform and curriculum reform.At present,China is moving forward from a large country of human resources to a powerful country of human resources,and core competence is crucial to talent training.The cultivation of students' core competence is inseparable from the effective guidance of teachers.Therefore,it is very important for English teachers to deal with the teaching under the core competence system and promote their professional development.This study mainly uses questionnaire,interview and literature.In this study,six junior high schools(two provincial key schools,two municipal key schools and two ordinary junior high schools)in Luoyang City,Henan Province are selected as samples to investigate English teachers of different grades with self-designed questionnaires and interview outlines.A total of 55 questionnaires were sent out,55 of which were actually collected,and 10 of them were interviewed.Through the analysis of the data obtained,it is found that: some internal factors such as low awareness of teachers' professional development,lack of teaching reflection and other external factors as high pressure and unsuitable school system influence the professional development of junior high school English teachers.This study believe that we should first enhance the professional development and lifelong learning awareness of junior middle school English teachers,and then cultivate their core competence by promoting their language ability and cultural quality,and improving their teaching methods and thinking quality.In addition,we should provide a good environment for their professional development by improving their external conditions.
