Application Binding Picture Book Research And Practice

In recent years,picture book publishing industry in China has developed rapidly.A large number of foreign picture books have been introduced,which provide a rich experience for the development of the picture book in the design of the content creation and frame design,and have made great challenges to the development of the native original picture books.In the face of the fierce competition,how to embody its native character on the basis of adhering to the original originality,that is,to integrate the native element in its creation,to highlight its cultural charm,is the problem that the native original picture books should solve urgently.Accordion binding is a kind of traditional Chinese book binding form,which is functional and aesthetic,and full of distinctive Chinese cultural characteristics.Through the research and analysis of the relevant literature and picture books,the author finds that the traditional art form of book binding is consistent with the theme conveyed by the author's story ‘Who lives here'.Contemporary picture books emphasize the interaction between picture books and children,and enrich children's reading experience in various ways.It can strengthen the theme of the story by skillfully integrating folding into picture book design,and is in line with the cultural uniqueness that local original picture books need to maintain under the trend of globalization.In this paper,the traditional warp accordion binding and modern children's painting are discussed.Starting from the design point of this close combination,taking the creative practice of primary-age 's children's picture book ‘Who lives here' as an example,this paper studies and explores both theory and practice.In the theoretical part,the paper helps to understand the artistic characteristics and development status of accordion binding form by consulting a great number of relevant literatures at home and abroad firstly.Secondly,based on the characteristics of children's cognitive development and reading psychology,this paper analyzes the cases of the combination of excellent children's picture books and accordion binding at home and abroad,and clarifies the learning goals of picture book script,style,binding and so on,which lays a solid foundation for the later creative practice.In the practice part,the author takes the young children of low child age as the creation object,A simple and easy-to-understand text,combination of collage and painting is used.The author tries to bring new reading experience to the children by using both the traditional and modern frame form,and create a new picture which is in accordance with the reading habits and the aesthetic interest of the children.This paper is fortunate to find out the superiority of the combination of traditional accordion binding and children picture book in theoretical research and designing practice.This superiority includes transcending the space limitation of the page,enhancing the reading experience of the picture book,breaking the conventional paging design,and boosting the multi-dimensional interaction between the reader and the picture book.At the same time,it is not only enrich the natural and quaint traditional cultural aesthetics,but also satisfy the modern painting design on the functional needs.Its unique "Unity of Heaven and Man" traditional art design concept makes up for the lack of the characteristics and spirit in the original picture books.The application of traditional accordion and the traditional picture book forms of art in the creation of children's painting is a return of the national spirit and a reflection on the traditional culture.The author hopes that the paper can provide new creative direction and ideas for the creative designers of Chinese picture books through the theoretical research and design practice in this field.
