Comparative Analysis Of Chinese And Russian Polite Language

Politeness as a specific etiquette and etiquette is a social custom and a moral norm that should be observed between people.Politeness is closely related to people's lives and even survival.It is a concrete expression of respect and friendship for others in language communication.This thesis mainly analyzes the politeness of Chinese and Russian languages from the aspects of types,expression and cultural connotation,and elaborates the principle of politeness that the two languages follow in the process of communication.While learning the language,accurately grasp the use of polite words,we can avoid unintentional rude words to others,thereby ensuring the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication.Under the guidance of Chinese linguist Gu Yueguo's Chinese-style politeness principles and Russian linguist Formanovskaya's speech etiquette;The introduction of this paper first expounds the research background,research purposes,research ideas,research methods and theoretical basis of the thesis,and focuses on the theoretical and practical significance of the Chinese and Russian polite expression comparison research.This paper summarizes the definition and the functions of polite language(contact function,adjustment function and expression function);also outlines the definition,connotation of the politeness principle and the function of polite language.It points out that the politeness principle has similarities and differences in Chinese and Russian cultures,introduces the expressions of Chinese and Russian polite expressions,including lexical means,grammatical means and rhetorical means.It discusses the "Chinese-style Politeness Principle" and the summary of the Russianpoliteness principle,also includes a more detailed analysis of the semantic features of Chinese and Russian polite expressions;comparatively analyzes the semantic types of Chinese and Russian polite expressions by selecting representative appellations,acknowledgments,apologies and blessings;analyzes the cultural connotation of Chinese and Russian polite language from the aspects of national psychology,thinking mode,value concept,ethics and social status.Through the synchronic comparative analysis of Chinese and Russian Politeness Expressions,this paper describes their similarities and differences,reveals the essential differences and the underlying causes,so as to improve the level of Chinese language and achieve effective cross-cultural communication on the basis of a better understanding of Chinese culture.
