With the development of economics and society, the contact between the countries gets closer and closer, and China has been standing up forward among the great powers in the world. At the time of the big countries are strongly popularizing their own languages, Chinese fever is gradually gaining momentum all over the world, while Chinese language being the first big language which has the largest number of speakers in the world. It is obvious that the importance and epochal character of TCFL are.As the most widely used phrases, polite language becomes the most important content in TCFL. However, the polite principle has the universality in the exchange of nations, but due to the influence of cultural background and customs, actual manifestations of politeness and the standards for its judgment differ substantially from culture to culture. And so does China, being a states of ceremony who has five thousand years cultural accumulation. Owe to the limitations of historical and realistic condition, there is no experience to reference neither, the process of TCFL is still very slow,although it has made a great progress over these years. Naturally, the polite language teaching has many insufficient, including the shortage of TCFL teachers power, the lacking pertinence of polite language teaching materials and the problems about teaching of teacher itself. And in this paper, we’ll try to put forward the suggestion that can solve these problems of polite language teaching in TCFL, while describe and analyze the three points above. We also hope to make contributions to improving the efficiency and effects of TCFL which can make Chinese language learners use Chinese better and make success for cross-cultural communication.By means of analyzing the domestic and international situation of polite language teaching in TCFL and describing the different using phenomenon of polite language including greetings, phatic communion and euphemism, we’ll get the reasons of the difference occurring at the point of social cultural identity factor, psychological factor and environment factor. Then we can point out that the insufficient and new situation of polite language between Chinese and English, and highlight the necessity of polite language teaching should advance with the times. We try to give several ways of improvement to solve the problems existing in polite language teaching, which could help to make consistent between TCFL and international pace. And also, we hope this paper can do some good to the development of translation, language researching and other interdisciplinary subjects.
