Intercultural communicative competence is the ultimate goal of TCSOL((Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages),and the level of intercultural sensitivity is one of the important indicators to measure intercultural communicative competence.The purpose of this paper is to study the intercultural sensitivity of international students majoring in TCSOL,investigate the level of intercultural sensitivity of international students majoring in TCSOL,what factors affect their intercultural sensitivity and how to improve their intercultural sensitivity.In this paper,questionnaire survey and semi open interview are used to investigate the international students majoring in TCSOL.Based on the "Intercultural Sensitivity Measurement Table" designed by Chen Guoming and Starosta,and according to the change of the research subject,research object and research environment,the "Intercultural Sensitivity Questionnaire" is redesigned.The content,reliability and other aspects of the questionnaire are analyzed through pre survey,and then it is modified and used for the final test.The use of questionnaire method is to get the current situation of intercultural sensitivity of the respondents and the possible influencing factors,while the use of interview method is to verify the survey results and further analyze the influencing factors.The results show that the intercultural sensitivity of international students majoring in TCSOL is at a medium level,with the highest level of communication participation in the five dimensions,followed by the level of difference identification,communication pleasure and communication confidence,while the lowest level is communication focus.The factors that affect their intercultural sensitivity are: the length of learning Chinese,the length of coming to China,Chinese cultural courses,language partners,and Chinese cultural activities.The results of the interview show that the reserve of communicative knowledge,the cultivation of cultural sensitivity,professional practice and cultural knowledge learning platform are complementary factors.According to the quantitative research and qualitative research,we summarize the above influencing factors and propose corresponding solutions.Under the research theme of "intercultural sensitivity",this paper innovates the research object,in a sense,further improves the application of the existing research results in the field of TCSOL,which is practical for guiding the international students of TCSOLto enhance their intercultural sensitivity,make them integrate into the Chinese cultural environment faster,and actually improve their communicative competence with Chinese people.More importantly,we have creatively revised the "Intercultural Sensitivity Measurement Table" to make it conform to the research topic,research object and research environment of this paper.We hope that the research process and results of this paper will have some reference value for later research.
