A Report Of Interpreting For A Client Seminar Of An Electronic Trading Corporation

According to traditional interpretation quality assessment,interpreter should maintain as much neutrality,fidelity,and invisibility as possible.However,in practice,due to the diversified user expectation,the standard of interpretation quality assessment varies as well.This report is based on the interpretation practice of the author,who provided language service for an electronic trading corporation's client seminar.In this report,the author reviews the background information,user expectation,preparation process,successes and failures,and feedback of this practice.During interpreting,though the author doesn't precisely meet the principle of fidelity,neutrality,and invisibility,users still give positive feedbacks.Meanwhile,due to the inadequacy of preparation and emergency coping tactics,obvious mistakes can be seen in interpretation as well,which jeopardizes the quality of interpretation.From this practice,the author further learned that the importance of adequate and targeted preparation,and interpreter should optimize interpretation quality and effect of communication by meeting user expectation.
