| Deng Zhimo is a more representative popular literary writer in the late Ming Dynasty. He wrote the "Three Records" novels, such as Feijian Ji,Zhouzao Ji and Tieshu Ji,the opera "Five Legends",Huaniao Zhengqi,Shanshui Zhengqi and so on.The content of these works is interesting and the style is novelty, which has attracted the attention of many scholars.Due to certain restrictions, such as invisible materials, the academic community focused its research on three novels: Feijian Ji,Zhouzao Ji and Tieshu Ji.There were few relatively studies on "ZhengQi",and the achievements in opera are still scarce.Studying Deng Zhimo and his works is helpful to understand the creative characteristics of different types of writers, especially the understanding of the popular literature in the late Ming Dynasty.Based on Deng Zhimo’s legends, miscellaneous operas and related materials received in The Rare Opera Series of the Late Ming Dynasty, this dissertation systematically studies its novels, operas, and "ZhengQi",and analyzes the internal and external relations of novels and operas. The thesis is divided into six parts:The introduction mainly analyzes the research status of Deng Zhimo and his works and the origin of the selected topics, which shows that there are still many problems in the research of Deng Zhimo’s works, such as the types and stylistic definitions of the three novels of Feijian Ji,Zhouzao Ji and Tieshu Ji.The style and author of the "ZhengQi",the structure and innovation of the opera. The first chapter mainly discusses Deng Zhimo’s life experience, his writing and making friends. It believes that Deng Zhimo was knowledgeable and travelled in all directions when he was young.Encountered a change in middle age,he had to go to Fujian ShuLin and write a book for a living.Deng has been active in the literary world for a long time.He edited and produced a large number of annotations, and his identity should be the contracted writer of the bookstore owner. The second chapter mainly discusses the types and stylistic features of "Three Records" novels."Sanji" selects the theme of Xiandao, but it is not created for religious purposes. It is more reasonable to classify it into Xiandao novels. The novels of "Sanji" are divided into different volumes, with simple structure and strong pseudo-narrative style, which presents the characteristics of "Zhanghui Huahua".The third chapter mainly discusses the genre of "ZhengQi",the author of the drama in "ZhengQi" and its origin. The style of "ZhengQi" is a novel.Among them, the drama is a series of creations. The drama Qin Lou Xiao Yin Feng,Tang Yuan Drum Flower,Zhe Mei Feng Yi Shi,Jian Yan Yi Zheng Ren,You Wang Lifting the Flames,Longyang Jun Crying Fish, and Qing Lou Fang Ji are single-fold dramas created by Deng Zhimo. The fourth chapter mainly discusses the ideological content, structural system, and artistic characteristics of the opera. It points out that the system features of the combined use of the North and South operas, the division of volumes, the division of headings, and the opening of the opera are similar to the overall situation of the late Ming opera. The names of hundreds of dominoes, medicines, flowers, and birds are used as the names of the characters, reflecting the author’s unremitting pursuit of "newness." In addition, the "unification of reason and reason" in content shows the author’s innovation under the traditional "conflict of reason and reason" model. The fifth chapter mainly analyzes the internal and external relations of novels and operas, and points out that Deng Zhimo’s novels and opera creations show similar creative habits, obvious modelization, and the tendency of "focusing on entertainment".The external relations of novels and operas are manifested by subject lineage, doubleline structure and stylized appearance. In addition, the opera provides a model for the Gifted and Beautiful Novels, and the "ZhengQi" breaks the boundaries of the style of novels and drama. The conclusion part summarizes the creative identity, creative value and limitation of Deng Zhimo’s popular literati. It is believed that Deng Zhimo’s creative mentality to some extent reflects the state of the literati in the middle and lower classes in the late Ming Dynasty, which has certain representativeness and typicality. |
