The acceleration of the globalization of the world has aroused people's interest in leaders of global politics, economy and other fields. The lives of public icons are thus brought into view through biographies. At the same time,as an important part of the study of contemporary biographical literature, the study of biography of characters develops. In order to realize the biographical study of foreign characters, translation as a medium is necessarily needed. This report is a case study of the C-E translation.Based on the translation of the book Citizen of the world(excerpts),the translator discusses and analyzes three main problems according to Jiri Levy's translation theory: the translation of words under definitional and selective instruction, translation of sentences under minimax strategy and Illusion Theory.Jiri Levy's translation theory has a strong guiding significance in biography translation. It highlights the translator's identity and emphasizes the translator's subjective initiative,i.e.,“Translation is a decision process”.
