Ang Lee's "Father Trilogy"(Pushing Hands,The Wedding banquet,Eat Drink Man Woman)takes the relationship between father and son in family life as the starting point,and shows the identity logic and cultural landscape of Chinese people living in China,Taiwan,and the United States from a multiple perspectives,which thus becomes a classic text of Chinese-language films in the cross-cultural perspective."Father trilogy" focuses on the differences of individual cultural identity,truly reflects the cultural conflict between East and West,and shows the mufti-dimensional cultural landscape.It becomes a typical text for the study of cultural identity in Chinese films.Based on the theory of cultural identity,this article uses text analysis to systematically study the character relationship,cultural codes and language system of the "Father's Trilogy".Specifically,the development of character relations is at the core of cultural identity,and it has a guiding function for cultural codes and languages,while the characteristics of cultural codes and language systems have a negative effect on the development of character relationships and cultural identity.Generally speaking,the cultural identity of "Father Trilogy" embodies the basic characteristics of conflict and peace.Specifically,in the conflict dimension of cultural identity,the relationship between father and son highlights domination and resistance,the relationship between husband and wife contains conflict and friction,and the relationship between sisters mixes control and alienation.Among them,human being as a medium highlight the inherent conflicts of cultural communication;spatial codes,dietary codes,and material codes have a clear indication of individual cultural identity;language system,as a symbolic system of cultural communication,shows diversity the complexity of cultural conflicts.On the contrary,in the harmony and balance of cultural identity,the characters as the key medium of cultural identity reconciliation,the relationship between father and son connotes compromise and respect,the relationship between husband and wife shows tolerance and understanding,and the relationship between sisters contains adjustment and reconciliation;external culturalcodes The change demonstrates the way people's cultural identity changes;language,as a medium of communication,learns from each other and influences each other and promotes the process of cultural identity reconciliation.Based on the analysis of cultural identity of the text,it is found that Ang Lee's "Father's Trilogy" highlights the difficulty and complexity of cultural identity and reflects the entanglement of individuals in the face of mufti-cultural conflicts and the individual's game in the dilemma of cultural choice.Based on his rich and diverse social experience and growth experience,Ang Lee provides a model that can be used as a reference for the film's multiple cultural identities.Therefore,the unique landscape of cultural identity in Ang Lee's films is multidimensional conflict and two-way peace.Ang Lee's film is based on the roots of the "local" culture,and the pattern is distributed to the world.It has the multiple support of "mother culture" in mainland China and "subculture" in Taiwan and "other culture" in the Western,highlighting the scene of the multiple interweaving of Eastern and Western cultures.By analyzing the cultural identity in the film "Father's Trilogy",it is not difficult to find that the text of Ang Lee's film embodies mufti-cultural characteristics.In the cultural identity of Ang Lee's films,the cultural conflict is multidimensional,peace and harmony are two-way.There are conflicts among individuals,but they influence and believe each other.Through Ang Lee's films,the cultural identity orientation of the whole Chinese films is mapped.The Chinese-language movies images to show the situation and characteristics of conflict and compromise between our culture and other cultures.Ang Lee grasped the important cultural themes and presented the complexity and profundity of cultural identity in an artistic way.Based on this,it reflects the multidimensional construction of cultural identity film and the complexity of identity in cross-cultural communication.
