A Study Of Chen Zao's Poetry

Chen Zao was a Neo-Confucianist and poet of the Southern Song Dynasty.In the meantime,he was also a leading figure of “Ai Xuan School”,a famous school of neo-confucianism in the Southern Song Dynasty.Chen Zao's life was very bumpy,he failed in many imperial examinations,which resulted in his poor life.To make a living,he had to travel all over Fujian and Guangdong.In his later years,he lived by teaching and farming.Although,Chen Zao's life has many hardships,and for many years drifting in a foregin land,but,he is very strong and optimistic,still persevering in the harsh environment,and worked hard to forge ahead.He achieved little success,the influence in Fu Jian region can not be ignored.Chen Zao's works are all collected in the “Collection of Le Xuan”,the collection consists of eight volumes,the first three of which are poems.Due to the lack of information about Chen Zao's life,“Le Xuan Collection” can be said to be an important study of Chen Zao and his works.At present,the research on Chen Zao is a little shallow and can not form a system.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on “Le Xuan Collection”.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into three parts.The first chapter is an exploration of Chen Zao's poetic theme.This chapter is divided into four sections.The first section is the reward,the second section is the discipline,the third section is the ode to things,and the fourth section is about expressing one's feelings.The second chapter is to explore the artistic characteristics of Chen Zao's poetry.This chapter is divided into four parts.The first part is plain and sincere,which is the most distinctive feature of Chen Zao's poetry;the second part is to exercise the words,which is easy to understand,Chen Zao as Ai Xuan successor,very pay attention to poetry exercise;the third part is the use of allusions,it is unique,Chen Zao widely read books,so many times in the poetry of the use of scripture;the fourth part is argumentation,which has another meaning.Chen Zao's identity as a theorist makes his poems focus on reason.The third chapter is the influence of Chen Zao.It is mainly to explore the reasons for the limitation of Chen Zao's influence.
